Shown here is the original balloon hanger used for construction and later storage of the one and only balloon manufactured at NAS Grosse Ile. It is show in it's original status prior to a one story addition at the rear. in the upper left is the original Seaplane base where the Navy first began it's operations.  -- Hal Neubauer
