NAS Grosse Ile Tars & Rifles Drill Team

   Formed in 1958, The Drill Team performed in parades and sporting events through out the mid west. Here a few of the  charter members are shown with the Dallas Cow Girls after the half time performance at the Detroit Lions game. Team members Shown from the left rear are: Joe Starmer, equipment mgr.; Hal Neubauer; Joe Bulko; Danny Kegley; and Charlie Adams. Front left is: Pete Leet; Lcdr.Dean Buck, OIC; and Jim Carden. Other charter members not shown included: Ed Short; Bob Bunn; Dayton Callihan. There were 14 members in the original Drill Team.

After we started the Drill team in 1958 we were officially acknowledged by NAS Notice #5720 signed by Captain
F. G. Reynolds 25 March 1959.
