NAS Greenbury Point & NAF Annapolis

I worked as a civilian firefighter for the US Naval Academy fire department.  We provided fire protection to 4 navy bases located in Annapolis. They are US Naval Academy, Naval Ship Research & Development Cntr., Naval Communications Station and Naval Station Annapolis. The site of the radio station was originally the US naval Academy dairy Farm, but from 1914 to 1917 it was NAS Greenbury Point. In 1917 the air operations were moved elsewhere and the site became the radio station. The Naval Station Annapolis was originally Naval Air Facility Annapolis, and had mostly seaplanes for midshipman training assigned there. Just thought you might like to know.

Sincerely,
D. Michael Doll
